Horse Rescue

Riverbend Equestrian Center is proud to announce that a group of boarders have come together to start a program to foster a rescue horse. We will take in one horse at a time and rehab them back to their optimum health, mind and body so they can go on to their forever home.

Our first foster is named General. He is a 6-year-old off-the-track Thoroughbred. We welcomed him to Riverbend through our partnership with Apache Horse Rescue and Sanctuary of Jupiter, Florida.

Once our foster's rehabilitation is complete and a forever home is found, we plan to continue to take with a new foster horse and repeat the process.

The program is the brainchild of our barn manager Penny Meno. Penny Meno specializes in rehabbing horses. When she was approached by one of our very wonderful boarders who already adopted her own rescue horse, they came together with the idea of developing this program. The generosity of Penny Meno and our boarders has brought all of this to reality.
